With Everything

There are songs that send chills down my spine, and With Everything by Hillsong United is one of them. Call it emotional manipulation or call it the Holy Spirit, the song just… hits me everytime I hear it. There’s an awesome line in it that says this:

“Let hope rise, and darkness tremble in your holy light…”

Think about that. Think about what it means. God is light and the thought of darkness not only trembling in that light, but disappearing because of that light, is amazing. The assurance we have in God’s presence is nothing less than epic and I often forget that, but every time I hear With Everything I am reminded that God is in control and that God is light and that in his holy light darkness trembles.

Here’s something else that is amazing. That we are the light of the world. That we are given the Holy Spirit so that God’s holy light can shine through us. The first verse of the song is a prayer that God would open our eyes to see the things that make his heart cry, that we would be the church that he would desire… be his light to be seen.

The holy light that makes darkness tremble is in us.

Whoa, huh?

With everything…

With everything…

We will shout for your glory.

With everything…

With everything…

We will shout for your praise.

Our hearts they cry, be glorified.

Be lifted high above all…

To you, our king,

With everything,

We will shout for your praise.
